Focusing on a single language pair allows us to dedicate considerable individual attention to each translation. Each translation is assigned to a translator selected according to his or her educational and professional background and experience in the subject area. English to Czech translations are done by translators with Czech as their native language. Czech to English translations are done by translators with English as their native language. When it is unavoidable that a translation is translated by a translator working into his or her second language (e.g. due to the very specific nature of the assignment), then it is always edited by a translator speaking the target language as his or her native language. Many translation projects require a carefully considered approach. Again, it is our focus on a single language pair that allows us to ensure that the final product meets the specific purpose of the translation. “What is the final purpose of the translation?” is a question we ask ourselves when accepting each translation project; the answer determines how we handle the project.              

A Few Examples of Our Approach to Translation  

Marketing documents: Using the expertise of native translators, we pay great attention to culture-sensitive issues and to conveying as effectively as possible your marketing message (the unique selling proposition) in a culture-specific way. 

Material safety data sheets: We ensure that the translation complies with local safety requirements (i.e. the exact wording of risk and safety phrases: R-phrases, S-phrases, etc.).     

Patents: Beyond assigning the translation to an expert in the subject area, we ensure that the translated patent includes terminology required by the local patent office.  

Patient information leaflets: We take care to assign patient information leaflets only to translators who are experienced in translating these particular documents, since they describe how patients should use their medication, and complete accuracy is therefore absolutely essential.

Proofreading

Each translation is proofread upon completion for grammar, accuracy, completeness and terminology.
