Translation of discharge summaries and medical reports between English and Czech

We translate discharge summaries and medical reports between English and Czech for internationally conducted (multicentric) clinical trials.

Patient discharge summaries and medical reports include patient’s medical history, results of laboratory and other specific examinations, diagnostic findings, medication used by the patient (including the study drug), patient’s response to medication, and other items.  We have extensive experience in translating such reports from Czech to English. Translating of discharge summaries and clinical reports is often challenging becouse of following reasons:

Reports are often written by examining physicians without using complete sentences, but using only short sentence fragments. They also include many abbreviations and terminology (both Czech and English) that can be understood only by physicians. Since these are highly specialized documents, we have developed efficient collaboration with translators who have a degree in medicine (MD). They are often practicing physicians who translate on part-time basis. We have also developed an extensive English and Czech glossary of medical abbreviations that we use during the translation process.
